The Loyola Academy Rowing Association gives students the opportunity to learn the techniques and traditions of rowing, with an emphasis on teamwork and perseverance.
After their 2019/20 season was cut short by COVID-19, the teammates, coaches and parents sought alternative ways to stay connected and practice their shared values. In this spirit, their 2019/20 Annual Report was themed “Tradition. Connection. Commitment.”
With a foundation of traditional styles, the book aimed to bring a more aspirational appeal to this year’s story. Taking visual cues from rowing and water, typographic details such as pull-quotes were composed with fluid, horizontal movement. Photographs contrasting size and scale, color and black & white, highlighted the dedication of the student-athletes.
