Amy Redmond is an art director, design educator and visual artist whose digital and analog work is connected by a passion for type. Early in her career (while working as book designer), a fine press apprenticeship with Stern & Faye Printers led her to the letterpress program at the School of Visual Concepts (SVC) in Seattle, where for 18 years she taught and assisted with its curriculum development. In response to the impacts of COVID-19 she helped evolve that program into Partners in Print: an independent arts organization whose letterpress-based mission is to bring people together by using old printing presses to amplify new voices, share knowledge, and spark creativity.
Amy works as an independent art director for a variety of clients and continues to teach typography at SVC. She holds a BFA in Design from James Madison University and prints in her private letterpress studio, Amada Press.
