The Illinois Climate Action Plan is an initiative at the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign) to create carbon neutrality on campus by the year 2050. Outweighing the doubts and disappointments of a pandemic struck graduation for me, meant visualizing a positive future at the university. I consider environmental stewardship and social justice to be a major part of human progress. Sharing this outlook with others, in a personally engaging way, had been my goal since day one on campus. I worked with the department of energy and environment to visualize the Climate Action Campaign as an ever evolving story, rather than a technicality. Not all of my ideas came to be, but I hope these concepts inspire further exploration of design as a tool for creating empathy towards one another and faith in our scientists.
