This piece was created for THE Magazine as part of a new series of works intended to showcase New Mexico-based artists and designers. In our discussions about the project the concept of an art-based "activity page" emerged and so I took the concept of a maze (a typical activity page feature) and worked with a quote from Alex Coles that I thought seemed like a perfect fit to be rendered in a maze-like manner. Many designers I know seem to, at one point or another, wrestle with the art vs. design question so a maze seemed like an appropriate metaphor for this path we walk as creatives who often don't want to be defined in one way or another.
