Our studio was invited to be part of the exhibition celebrating the 30th anniversary of Café Tacvba's RE album, as one of the 30 Latin American studios involved in the project, reinterpreting the musical legacy of this iconic album in graphic form. The poster we developed unfolded as a graphic exploration of the pluralism that defines the album, using typographic forms to reflect its multiple sonic dimensions visually. Printed in 5-color silkscreen, the piece was made in an extremely limited edition of just 10 copies. The exhibition took place on November 13th and 14th, 2024, at the Centro Histórico in Mexico City, coinciding with the release of the vinyl reissue of the album, providing a beautiful opportunity to honor the cultural impact of the band through visual art.

For our poster, we decided to use typography as the main element of exploration, just as Café Tacvba has always used musical tools to break expectations. We subverted the legibility of the words, reflecting how the band challenges traditional notions of music. The word RE appears in fluid, curvilinear, and musical movement, while CAFÉ TACVBA is presented in a modular, rhythmic, technological, and experimental way—traits that also define the band's work over the decades. We really enjoyed the opportunity to develop this poster, as it was a chance to merge our typographic language with the experimental energy of the band, creating a piece that seeks to engage with the essence and sonic legacy of the RE album.
