The Poetry Foundation is an independent literary organization dedicated to promoting poetry and its culture. The basis of the Poetry Foundation's new identity is the Poetry type family, consisting of three versions: Minimum, Medium, and Maximum. The type family connotes a sense of formation; its lack of "complete-ness" suggests the notions of coming into being, of the poetry process, and of interpretation by the reader. The occasional lack of conventional clarity of a single letter invites examination and interpretation of relationships; while the simple, elemental forms used throughout the type family harken back to early writing systems and through the given context communicate clearly and with precision.
