Geometry of Light is an immersive artistic intervention by Luftwerk in collaboration with Iker Gil at the German Pavilion in Barcelona and the Farnsworth House in Plano, Illinois. It is envisioned as a contemporary lens for these important masterpieces, highlighting and expanding upon their architectural, material, and landscape features. Geometry of Light establishes a dialogue between these two canonical structures designed by Mies van der Rohe (with Lilly Reich in the case of the German Pavilion), creating a new interpretive layer extending from the primary elements of its architecture and environment. In concert with the projected light, a custom-designed sound piece by Oriol Tarragó is integral to this experience. We designed all supporting graphic materials for Geometry of Light.
