A digital installation of four looping animations displayed on vertical screens for the Typojanchi 2017 exhibit in Seoul, Korea titled WRITE IN RED: WHERE MOHM (BODY) TOUCHES TYPOGRAPHY.
Our exquisite corpse installation, BODY COPY, mimics humanity’s need to replicate itself. Individual letterforms constructed on real human bodies move and morph into generative expressions. Stardust turns into atoms and atoms into cells. Muscle attaches to bone and minds connect to bodies in an infinite variety of shapes, textures, and colors.
Humanity’s replication becomes the armature on which our visual language comes alive. Society emerged with a bang, filling Earth with our crowded closeness. We copy ourselves in every way and in each other; in language, politics, culture, and style — each time slightly modifying the source code. Here we are and there we go.
