About Design: Insights + Provocations for Graphic Design Enthusiasts, by Gordon Salchow, is a 208 page black and white paperback publication. Whle designing the book, Kelly Salchow MacArthur was challenged to visualize the concepts conveyed in the text, through the treatment of type and graphic form within the format. The result is a unique book on design that does not include imagery in boxes, with corresponding captions. Instead, simple graphic elements, and typographic shifts throughout the publication establish a narrative system of variable spreads.
