This video is the result of an unconscious exploration of a quote by Hypatia of Alexandria, a Greek mathematician, about the importance of thinking for yourself. The text is projected onto moving water to express the fluidity and shifting of thought patterns. By breaking up the words onto multiple lines, this piece also questions the nature of linear reading and understanding. The repetition of punctuation mimics that of notes on a moving staff. The effect is that of a fun house or a wind-up music box for the mind.
