The Summer 2015 issue of ArchitectureBoston—the quarterly publication of the Boston Society of Architects—featured articles related to the theme “Voyage,” be it by plane, train or automobile. This story discussed historical case studies of innovation in airport design. We pulled each airport code into custom illustrations inspired by vintage luggage tags. The illustrations were so popular, we revisited the idea for the cover, integrating the BSA’s green, the issue’s story tags, and all of the standard cover content.
