Ben Van Dyke investigates complexity in systems, language, pattern and typography through site-specific installations. He has been invited to exhibit, lecture, facilitate workshops and collaborate on projects across North America, South America, Europe, Eastern Asia, Western Asia and Australia. In 2006 he was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship to the Netherlands where he was the artist-in-residence at NLXL in The Hague. During this time, he focused on how experimental practices influence mainstream culture.
Currently, he serves as Vice President of DesignInquiry — a non-profit design collective focused on research and education. Ben received his MFA from the University of Michigan and a BFA from Kendall College of Art & Design. He is currently design faculty at Michigan State University in the Department of Art, Art History & Design.
