Joan Ramon Pastor, also known as Wete, is a Spanish graphic designer and typographer based in Barcelona. Painting graffitis since his childhood, Wete found his passion in letterforms and since then has devoted his entire career to typography and art direction. After winning a Laus award as a student and becoming ISTD (International Society of Typographic Designers, London) member the same year, Wete began his professional career in the Barcelona based studio Two Points, were he worked as type designer. Later on, he joined Vasava studio as an Art Director, working for clients such as Nike, Diesel or Adobe. He set up Ultra Types foundry in 2012, a small online type foundry specialized in display/decorative fonts, and started his own studio Wete. Wete combines graphic design with illustration, developing custom and retail fonts, and letterings for clients such as Adobe, Carolina Herrera, Reebok or the Louis Vuitton group. He’s teaching and giving typography workshops both online and offline, and his work has been presented at various design congresses / festivals. In 2017 he received the Certificate of Excellence from the Type Directors Club for his work for Adobe.
